The difference between an unbalanced force and a balanced force is that for every force to the right there should be the same amount of force on the left if not it is an unbalanced force. It goes the same way for forces going up and down. if there is 5n up and 10n down the force is 5n down and is unbalanced. But if it is 5n up and 5n down they cancel out each other and it equals 0.

This is a square so the object can be anything so i decided to make the object a rock. There is friction so if you roll the rock the friction will make the rock stop. There is gravity pulling the rock towards the ground but also a normal force with is pushing the rock up.Lastly there is an applied force with is something pushing or pulling the rock.

Vector and Scalar

A vector is a quantity showing direction and magnitude but a scalar is a quantity with only magnitude. So a vector shows direction but a scalar does not.Vectors in real life are used all around us. If you are hiking and the map says walk .5 mi east it is a vector because it says east which is a key word that it is a vector. A scalar in ever day life is say you want to lose 30 pound and you go to the gym.Lets say you lost 250 calories, this is a scalar because there is no direction. That is the difference between a scalar and vector.

Four Forces

There are 4 forces ,applied force, gravitational force, normal force, and tension force. An applied force has contact. It is a push or pull that is cause by an object. In an everyday life an applied force is when you push open a door or kick a soccer ball because u are putting force on an object. Also a gravitational force has no contact. It is the only force with no contact.A gravitational force is when a larger object attracts another object. In an every day life this force is used when u drop a coin and it falls to the floor. Gravity is pulling the coin down to the earth. Also normal force has contact. It is a force on a surface. It usually is something being pushed up.Lastly tension force has contact. It is a pulling force usually a rope for chain.Tension force in real life would be a monkey hanging from a vine.
